Virtual Health Solutions, a Canadian company with offices in Cochrane AB, is a medical solution provider that has developed a unique understanding of remote and rural communities and the challenge of implementing today’s technology to provide the basic life necessities for health, education and communication services.

“The company’s new home-based VCare Health System monitors everything from blood pressure to blood sugar counts to heart rates. And it’s all done by wireless computer from the comfort of your own home,” stated Tim Marks, CTO and Founder of Virtual Health Solutions. “When the measurements are taken, they’re forwarded to a VHS nursing call center that is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Homeowners can even arrange to have their test results sent directly to their family doctor through the nursing station. Individual monitors for such things as blood pressure, heart rate and more are also available. The system also offers electronic reminders for when medication should be taken, and if it is forgotten, an alarm sounds at the nursing station so somebody is aware.”

VHS retains a complete electronic record that can be accessed by those of your choosing, such as family or doctors, by username and password. If the measurements fall outside preset parameters, a nurse is alerted and the medical situation is dealt with.

VCare also provides safety and security monitoring. Your home can be monitored for forced entry, breaking glass and/or smoke and fire. Your home is monitored for activity so if you become incapacitated for a configurable period of time the call center is notified. And you don’t have to be a computer expert to use it.  It’s simple and it’s safe.
